Wasp Nest Control Across the Midlands

Found a wasp nest on your property? Don’t wait for it to become a bigger problem. A single nest can hold up to 10,000 wasps, and when disturbed, they can become aggressive — especially during warmer months. At Pestway, we offer fast, safe and professional wasp nest removal services throughout the Midlands.

How We Treat Wasp Nests

Our trained pest control specialists use targeted treatments depending on the nest’s location and size. Most wasp nests are treated using a professional-grade insecticidal dust, which is applied directly to the nest and around its entry points. In some cases, we may also use a liquid pesticide spray or a combination of both for effective results.

We’re fully licensed and certified, and all treatments are carried out using professional products not available to the public.

When and Where Wasps Build Nests

Wasp activity typically begins in April and May, when the queen emerges from hibernation to find a new nesting site. You’ll often find nests in places like:

  • Loft spaces and wall cavities
  • Garden sheds and garages
  • Eaves, overhangs, and roof voids
  • Trees, hedges or shrubs

By summer, these nests can grow over 30cm in diameter, housing thousands of wasps. By August and September, the colony is at full strength, and wasps start actively searching for sweet foods — making them a serious nuisance in gardens, homes, and commercial areas.

If you’re noticing a sudden increase in wasp activity, there’s likely a nest nearby. The closer it is to people or pets, the greater the risk — especially for those with allergies to stings.

Wasp Behaviour & Lifecycle

Wasps are colonial insects, living in social groups led by a queen. In spring, the queen starts building a small nest using a papery material made from chewed wood and saliva. As summer progresses, the nest rapidly expands as worker wasps take over the construction and help care for the young.

During the height of summer, worker wasps feed on nectar, sweet substances, and insect larvae. Toward the end of the season, the colony produces males to mate with new queens, who then hibernate and form new colonies the following year.
